About
Let’s party like it’s 1996! Join us as we pay tribute to 30 Years of Jazz concerts at the San Ramon Library. The tradition began in 1996, when San Ramon was selected as the only California city to host a Smithsonian exhibit about Duke Ellington. Since then, our annual jazz concerts have grown in popularity, along with a one-of-a-kind jazz collection and archive. This year’s celebration features a live performance by Swing Gives You Wings, a young group that donates all proceeds to the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Celebrate with us by enjoying live music, cake and children’s crafts while supplies last. While you’re in the library, enjoy a Jazz-themed scavenger hunt through our unique Jazz Collection. Discover the rhythm, history, and soul of Jazz, including rare and hard to find recordings preserved as part of the collection. San Ramon was proudly the only California stop for two Smithsonian jazz exhibits solidifying the library’s place as a vibrant hub for jazz culture. Whether you're a lifelong jazz enthusiast or simply curious, come celebrate with us, explore the archive, and let the music move you.No registration required.
